"La Nuit Blanche" is an annual international Art festival taken place during the night time. People get free access to some museums, art galleries, art institutions,etc. There will also be some art performances or events on show. It is an occasion for people gethering and experiencing the arts.

In Paris, "La Nuit Blanche" is normally in October. With coats and scarfs, people are ready for long fight with cold of the night. So many activites to choose that you won't get bored. Plus, a perfect chance to experience the beauty of city in the night.

It was really worth making a long queue for the expo of Georges Braque in front of the Grand Palais during such a cold evening of October in Paris.

Georges Braque made a great contribution to the abstract arts, especially in the domain of Cubisme. No wonder that he was a good friend of Picasso. All those colors are well combined in each of his paitings, which set free your imagination.

Among all his works, I do adore his early ones, as I am a big fan of Impressionism. Those early works are about countryside, port, boat with vivid colors. The color black is seldomly used, even for the shadows. Instead, there are dark green, dark blue or mixed several colors. Colors do make the paitings so lively and cheerful! Here are my favorite ones.

Lille is the fourth largest city in France, the capital of Nord-Pas de Calais. As it is located on the border of Belgium and belongs to the region of Flanders, the architecture style is different from other part of France, even though it is only one hour from Paris by train. The weather in Lille is said to be cold and rainy, but actually, the rain goes away fast and the air is fresh. "Chi'ti" is their dailect.

Here is the city center - Grand Place. It is also famous for the market of Vintage. On foot, you could easily walk through the old town - Vieux Lille, experiencing its history. By the stones on the twists and turns streets you could tell the age of this town. Those exquisite boutiques are well installed in ancient buildings. And you could always discover something in a little corner or on a little street: a talented artist working on his paintings,a nice shop, an exposition, etc.
