Honfleur is the city situated on the bank of estuary of the Seine close to the Pont de Normandie.

The
city, especially the old beautiful port with typical houses behind, has
been painted by many famous artists, including Claude Monet, Gustave
Courbet, Eugene Boudin and Johan Jonkind, who formed Ecole honfleur, which made a big countribution to the movement of impressionism. Nowadays, lingering around the city,
many ateliers with oil paintings could be found. The brushes of artists
never stop, facing these beautiful views.

L'église Sainte-Catherine is the first wooden church I'd ever seen. The main part of the church and the bell tower are seperated at sides of the road, in case if the bell tower caught fire by lightening.

Here is a wonderful view of Honfleur's highest point Mont Joli, from where the whole city, the Seine and the Pont de Normandie could all be seen.
